The Alaska Jazz Workshop is a non-profit organization designed to teach young people jazz. Based at the University of Alaska, Anchorage, professional jazz musicians take time to pass on their skills and knowledge to the next generation so that the heartbeat of jazz will will keep on beating and more young people will live fuller lives.

 

AJW Fall 2014

Community Jazz Jam
The AJW will host a fun weekly Jazz Jam Session Sundays, 4-6pm from October 26 - December 14, at the Organic Oasis Restaurant. The jam session is open to all middle, high scool, college students and adult instrumentalists & volcalists.

The jam session host band will include members of the AJW Tuesday Advanced Band. The AJW and Organic Oasis will provide a piano, PA, drum set, bass & guitar amps for jammers to use. So bring your instruments and Real Books and have fun jamming on Jazz, Blues, Latin and funk songs!
